REAL PSYCHICS. REAL READINGS. Why do people get psychic readings? What compells people to call, or visit a psychic? And what leads some people to believe psychics are REAL, where others maintain steadfastly that they are all a scam?
Now I know that some of you are SO skeptical, and think that psychic abilities are IMPOSSIBLE, therefore there would be no value in getting a reading at all.
You’re probably saying, “how can a psychic reading POSSIBLY influence me as my mind is already firmly made up.”
I won’t argue that a good reading will convince you that psychic abilities are TRUE, like my experience more than 15 years ago did for me. (and the many similar ones since)
Instead, I will share with you what one of my closest friends, a lifetime skeptic, cynic and new age “de-bunker” shared with me AFTER speaking to a psychic medium I personally recommended, under circumstances that he was comfortable would make cheating impossible.
He said – “while I’m surprised how good it was and am really, really impressed…….it just makes me more curious how psychics can get information that seems impossible, and how our brains are wired to make that possible.”
I find it really, really interesting how some people are so committed to their beliefs, that even an experience that seems to suggest something different is true, only serves to make them want to find a way to re-enforce what they already thought is a fact! (this is very common when it comes to controversial areas like psychics and the paranormal, and is called “cognitive dissonance” by those that study it closely!)
That said – here are 2 reasons to get a psychic reading TODAY, even if you think your mind is already made up.
1 – You BELIEVE in psychic abilities, think real readings are possible, and yet have NEVER had an experience that has proven to you first hand, that it’s true.
My question? Why? If you truly believe psychics are real, why haven’t you actually sought out a real psychic to substantiate your position? I was a hard core skeptic…..and a simple psychic reading changed my life forever. I never understand how folks who SAY they believe in psychic abilities, and who watch the TV shows, read the books and talk the talk, have never actually gotten a reading themselves firsthand!
2 – You are a Skeptic, Cynic and Think ALL Psychics are New Age Nonsense
I can relate to this position, because I used to believe it! But the irony is, while I believed this 100%, I never sought out to TEST my beliefs by talking to a well rated, reviewed or recommended reader. ( I simply relied on my own common sense, and what I saw on TV, which I thought were well choreographed psychic scams)
To me, being a skeptic, and yet NEVER having had a reading yourself is like saying I hate CHOCOLATE, or pizza…..yet never having tried or experienced either one of those foods.
One last thing……
Regardless of what you think is true, or believe at your core…..a psychic reading is interesting, enlightening, entertaining and a whole lot of FUN, even if it only re-affirms what you already thought was right! I’ve had hundreds of readings over the last 10 years, and as a writer, researcher and paranormal publisher, it’s now my FAVORITE part of my job bar none!

Is psychic advice always 100% true?
Absolutely not, no. The accuracy of the information you get from a reading is dependent on a few very important factors….not the LEAST of which is the accuracy of the actual psychic giving the reading. The truth? I’ve received lots of advice over the years from all sorts of intuitives, clairvoyants, mediums and gifted sensitives of all types. Some of it has been amazing, mind blowing and 100% accurate and even occasionally life saving. Some of it has been wrong, inaccurate, bad and simply NOT applicable to my life, or my situation at the time.
So how do you tell which advice is WORTH listening to…and which you should ignore?
Choose your readers very carefully. Stick with reputable networks, psychic services or individual intuitives who have stood the test of time. Trust your gut. Often your OWN intuition makes for a great companion for figuring out which advice is worth following…and which simply doesn’t’ apply. My own golden rule is to listen to EVERYTHING a psychic tells me, and then to filter out anything that doesn’t seem to fit my particular set of circumstances, BUT to be mindful of the advice nonetheless. (and of course, to integrate and apply everything that DOES as well!)
The bottom line?
Getting regular life advice from a gifted psychic reader should be an integral part of your life. But that doesn’t mean blind faith from bad psychics! Instead, it means finding intuitives you TRUST, and incorporating the information that comes through to ensure you make the best possible life decisions and take advantage of everything this life has in store for you!

What is the BEST way to get a psychic reading?
Honestly? My favorite option is the phone. I prefer it MUCH better than "chat" or IM. I prefer it MUCH better than seeing someone in person as well. And while SOME people believe that the readings are NOT going to be as good on the phone as they would be in person, I have actually found the opposite is true.
Why are phone readings superior?
A few reasons. One, YOU (the caller) are more comfortable. It’s more convenient by definition….as you are typically getting the reading while you are at home. Secondly, it’s FAR less confrontational. There is now awkwardness and discomfort that I find takes place when you are visiting someone else’s home, office or reading room….which is almost always a bit odd for me. (especially if you are going for the first time.) Lastly…..a telephone reading is MUCH easier to end if you want! You simply can have up the phone…make up and excuse or just end the call when you want. In person, this can be much more intimidating, and when a reading is going badly….trust me, having this option is a BIG benefit when you feel like walking out. (but can’t or won’t to avoid being rude)
Phone readings are actually MORE accurate as well
Sound strange? I thought so too. But even people who STUDY psychic mediums and clairvoyants see that this is true….as phone psychics have a FAR higher "hit" rate in scientific studies than those you see in person. Why? Cold reading. It’s MUCH easier to do in person, as you can see someone’s facial expressions, movements and "tells", and you can ALSO "read" a lot about some ones life when you are looking at them face to face. (how you dress, how attractive you may be, how old you are, etc)
The Verdict?
My experience, and preference is simple: After 20 years of writing, researching and visiting psychics myself both personally and professionally alike, my favorite approach to this very day is a good old fashioned phone reading!
