REAL PSYCHICS. REAL READINGS. Are you scouring the web for free psychics?
Think that a free reading is going to solve your problems without spending a dime? Think again! In this article we are going to take a quick and easy look at free psychic readings, and why in my view, they remain one of the RISKIEST types of psychic experiences you can have. Are Free Psychic Services a Scam?
Honestly? I hate to paint any industry with too broad of a brush, but free psychic readings are very rarely everything they appear. Why? They basically operate on a bait and switch style selling system.
- You see the ad for a free reading.
- You respond…..and the phone operator pre-qualifies you for the session.
- Often, you MAY even be asked for a credit card at this point…..or solicited for other psychic services instead
- When your "free" reading DOES begin, you are often given a scripted, boilerplate horoscope style reading that is very generic and not too interesting..:-)
- Often, the scripted "psychic" will attempt to up sell you again….this time telling you that several of their premiere psychics are available, and that their skills are necessary to address your issues. (as in…..you’ve issues TOO heavy for the scripted psychic to tackle..:-)
Do ALL free services follow this approach?
No, they don’t. I’m generalizing a bit of course, but overall…..this has been my experience. There ARE of course a few psychic services that DO offer very legitimate free readings, but they are usually short, and of course, they DO want you to move on to a paid reading immediately thereafter. There is NOTHING wrong with this of course, as it’s much more honest, ethical and enjoyable as well. LivePerson will give you a free chat session for example, and other services I use and recommend will offer a 6 minute reading to PROVE they are the real deal. (but again, both of these services put a "cap" on how long the free session can go, or they’d obviously go out of business pretty fast..:-)
The bottom line?
I recommend you avoid free readings altogether, unless you know where to go to get them. 90% of the ads you’ll see for 100% no cost psychics are SCAMS, and they can be an expensive lesson in "buyer BEWARE" at that.
Can I get a psychic reading for free? And is a free psychic reading as good as one I would pay for? If you are anything like I used to be, price is PARAMOUNT when it comes to calling, or visiting a psychic, sensitive, medium or intuitive. And with today’s economic climate being about as bad as anything we’ve seen in dozens of years…more and more people are searching for FREE psychic advise to help them pick a path!
But this can be a pretty prickly path to pick……..
Why? Because most free psychics are NOT really free. They usually are free for an introductory period, (usually less than 5 minutes) and after that period expires….BINGO! You are "on the clock".
The other critical factor about free readings is…..
In my experience, they aren’t very good. As a matter of fact, I’ve had hundreds of readings over the years…and have paid the gamut from VERY inexpensive to much TOO expensive, too! And what I’ve found to be true, regardless of whether the reading was done by phone, in person, email or otherwise…..the FREE readings were usually not only bad, they were usually a scam! (and some of the most expensive "celebrity" style readings actually fall into the same trap….as the MOST expensive readings I’ve ever gotten have almost always been bad, bogus or downright disappointing)
The key thing to understand, is this….
Professional psychics are often good people, with big hearts, and AMAZING abilities. They also are running a business….and much like you and I go to work and are paid for our services, so too are they. And if they are offering readings for free…my first instinct is ALWAYS to ask why?
Why is this free? What is the "catch"? What shoe is going to drop, and when? With absolutely free readings….the shoe that drops is usually that the "free" part of the call never lasts long….and when it ends, you’re going to have to pay a hefty sum or the call is over. (and rarely….in my experiences, are the psychics, or the services that do this, worth the wait!)
And like all other "too good to be true" offers, so too are free psychic readings!
Unless you personally know the psychic, or have a personal connection, one way or another….you WILL have to pay..:-) If you truly value your time, AND value your money, in MY experience, your best bet is too simply find a psychic you really DO want to talk to, and pay a fair price! (for a REAL reading that WON’T have a "catch".)
The Bottom LIne?
I’ve had some of my best readings for under 25 dollars….and in today’s market, if you know where to look (and who to call) so TOO can you, without being disappointed by an offer that SOUNDED too good to be true, simply because it was!
