What are the signs a psychic, medium or clairvoyant is good?
What are the sorts of things to look for when trying to decide if a reader is real…..or just really good at making things up?
And what are the best ways to tell that a psychic network (or individual intuitive) is worth trying, and trusting….BEFORE you blow your money on a reading that is NOT worth your time, energy, income or effort?
The truth is, in my view anyway…there are many small, subtle signs that a psychic reader is good that MOST people will overlook. Little things like their mannerisms during a reading, how they explain information, and even what they believe about their own psychic or intuitive abilities for ME is very telling. (but maybe only because I have been researching and writing about this phenomena for a really long time, and know what strikes me as authentic)
Believe it or not, some of the easiest signs that a psychic is real can be gleaned from the type of readings they offer.
For example……PHONE psychic readings are much more difficult to do, and almost impossible to do “cold reading” (or the process of pretending to be getting information psychically, when instead…..the reader is reading body language, mannerisms or other “tells” their clients offer without realizing it)
In general, psychics who work by phone, and have very good ratings and reviews from satisfied customers and clients, to me……are far more trustworthy than psychics that don’t do phone calls, and work exclusively face to face.
Another strong sign for me is in their personal promise, or guarantee. A reader who offers a trial reading for compatability purposes, or who will give you your money back if you aren’t satisifed, is FAR more trustworthy than one who won’t, or who starts charging the moment the reading begins. (and doesn’t offer any performance promise or guarantee)
Simply stated…..professionals of ANY kind who are willing to put their money where they’re mouths are are more likely to be genuine than those who aren’t, and that certainly applies in the psychic world as well as any other industry as well!

What are some good questions to ask a psychic medium?
Is everything fair game? Can a medium make contact with anyone I want…..or do they simply see whoever “shows up” instead? In short…..if I really want to make contact with a loved one on the other side, what are the rules for getting a great reading that truly lives up to the hype? Do mediums “see” whoever comes through, or can I “ask” to see someone in particular?
A great question, and one that comes up quite a bit! The truth is, every medium works a bit differently, and has a different set of skills as well. Most legitimate mediums will see a spirit around you, and whether that particular spirit has shown up, or simply is ALWAYS around you, depends on who you ask. (and what you believe, and maybe even depends a bit on the the circumstances of what the spirit him or herself is “doing” in the afterlife)
For example?
Some spirits seem to “stick around” and gravitate to people and places they loved during life, rather than move on in the next world. (which according to many psychic mediums, is the chief reason certain places feel “haunted”, when a given spirit attaches to a place for an extended period of time)
Good questions to ask a medium?
Really anything that will give YOU validation that the communication is genuine. There is no real answer that is universally applicable here, it’s more about what YOU need to know that confirms that the information you are hearing is valid, genuine and NOT being made up by the medium.
Questions to NOT ask a psychic or medium?
Honestly, you never want to ask a psychic (or a spirit) when YOU are going to die, or anything that forecasts your own demise. It’s not really comfortable for the medium, NOR is it always accurate if you get an answer at all. (and believe it or not, MOST honest psychics will tell you that they don’t “see” this on demand years and years in advance, it’s something that they’ll sense when close or during a much deeper life reading)
And remember……
Asking a medium questions, or trying to make contact with a loved one who has crossed over is a GREAT way to help with your own grief resolution, and to be reminded that life doesn’t end with physical death. I know that lots of people don’t believe this as well of course……but if you keep your mind open, and just “test” a legitimate medium reading to see, I’m pretty confident you are going to find the experience CAN change what you believe about life, death and everything in between!

Are psychic reviews trustworthy? Should I read them before getting a reading?
I think that psychic reviews ARE trustworthy, with the following caveat. Most reviews, including those those that I publish myself, are often accompanied by a referral free for the recommended readings. In other words, I’m much more apt to review and write about psychics, or services that offer compensation for my recommendation. I don’t lie, and I’m very critical if a psychic, or a services is NOT as good as expected, or advertised. That said, there are probably other good psychics I’m missing, simply because they don’t participate in this practice, and quite simply, don’t get reviewed or recommend enough as a result! (which is definitely unfortunate)
What percentage of online psychics are really good?
I find that about 15-20% of the readings I’ve gotten have been really, really good. About half of those are incredible, and hard to forget……even years later. Most professional psychs are “hit or miss” and if you get an average one on an average day, you are NOT going to reading you’ll remember forever.
What about the 6% rule? I often hear psychic services claim they only hire 6 or 7% of the psychics that apply. Is this true?
Yes, it is. Some of the better known, and more well regarded networks use a “psychic snobbery” pitch to sell themselves. Essentially, they claim that by virtue of the fact that they reject most of the readers that apply, that means that those they DO hire are by default, superior. Unfortunately, I think this is a bit of a myth, as most studies seem to suggest that psychics, like any other profession, have good and bad days…and hiring, or NOT hiring someone based on a single interview, or reading, is not necessarily the best practice for ensuring they are selecting the cream of the crop. (although it’s certainly a policy that favors the customer, client or caller like you and I)
Lastly….what about phone readings overall? Are they as accurate as readings I’d get in person?
This I can honestly answer a resounding, and resolute YES! In my experience, not only are phone readings preferable, more accurate, and more affordable as well, they make it MUCH more difficult for a psychic to cheat, too. I’ve had tons of “weird” and unpleasant experiences with psychics in person over the last 20 years, mostly when I can tell they are trying to cheat…..but almost NONE via the phone, simply due to the difference in how the readings are done. (and the level of comfort they offer, if you DON’T like the way a reading is going you can simply hang up!)
Can a psychic experience change your life for the better? Can having an experience that defies logic, or that challenges your beliefs, or tests the limits of the power and potential of the human spirit make you a BIGGER (and broader) person in the process? I’m a huge believer in the idea that the only way to expand your boundries is to push them, prod them and often, knock them over completely..:-)
One of the very best ways to PROVE psychic abilities are true of course, is to get a reading from a qualifed psychic who can tell you things that you KNOW, in your gut, are impossible for them to know. (and that’s definitely a great way to explore this whole area)

The BEST questions to ask a psychic, medium or clairvoyant?
Believe it or not, PREPARED questions are the best! (and obviously, prepared by YOU, not by them) In my 20 years of getting readings, as well as writing about and researching psychic phenomena both personally and professionally alike, there is ONE key factor that differentiates those that I’ve remembered forever….versus those that were immediately forgettable. That component is the preparation I did before the reading commenced.
I recommend writing down 3-7 KEY questions, life “crisis’s”, confusions, conundrums or other critical areas of concern, and making sure these get addressed within the first 10-15 minutes of a reading. As a matter of fact, until you KNOW a reader is good, I don’t recommend spending any more than 15-20 minutes on the phone with a reader in the first place, as you should be able to get everything you need to know, in terms of honesty, accuracy and insight, in just the initial stages of a reading.
(I ALWAYS recommend doing a trial or test reading to get “proof” a reader is good, before you invest too much energy, effort income or finding out the hard way that they are not)
Questions about purpose and path are my favorite. Love questions are popular. So too are questions about spiritual direction, loved one’s who have crossed over
(especially of course, if you are calling a medium) and even recently, I’ve grown to really find past life exploration a ton of fun, very interesting, and something many psychics are pretty adept at helping with. (Even if they don’t advertise themselves as such)
The surprising way to PROVE psychic readings are real? Quite simply, by preparing a short “answer” of your own, to a series of questions you write down in advance, and then measure that up against what the reader tells you as well.
This way, you can actually have documentation, and details, and even “wrong” answers on paper….and then contrast that with the content of what they see during your session. (this helps eliminate cold reading charges, helps you identify what you are truly hoping to hear, and helps YOU get crystal clear on the sort of conversation you are hoping to have, which in my experience is important to getting a “clear clairvoyant channel” in the first place.
